About the Role
We are looking for an Email Copywriter to join the Marketing team. This role is responsible for drafting and editing copy while maintaining VICI’s brand voice across email, promotions, SMS, social media, direct mail, and other channels as needed.
What You’ll Do
- Email copywriting including subject lines, preview text, and body copy leveraging performance insights to optimize open and clickthrough rates.
- SMS, MMS, web push, and app push copywriting focused on driving engagement and conversion.
- Maintain and refresh triggered flow copy on a seasonal basis, ensuring subject lines, preview text, body copy, SMS messages, and app push notifications stay current with active promotions, codes, and brand priorities.
- Partner closely with Retention Marketing team to continually incorporate insights and learnings.
- Work collaboratively with Graphic Designer and other marketing team members to ensure marketing efforts are on brand and delivered on time
- Weekend and other special drop copywriting (brand collabs, key weekday drops, etc.) including collection and shop launch naming and taglines
- Writing copy for daily promotions across channels
- Writing paid and organic social media captions for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Threads
- Support retail marketing needs, e.g. copywriting for emails and print materials
- Maintaining and updating VICI’s brand copy bank
- Ongoing competitors copy review and sourcing inspiration, specifically for email and for other channels as required
- Developing influencer talking points for weekend collections
- Potential copywriting for blog. email newsletter, or other future marketing channels
- May support other ad-hoc marketing projects
- Develop a strong strategic relationship with channel partners to stay up to date with developments in strategy, goals, testing projects, data and analytics, and e-commerce sales and traffic performance
- Continuously learn and adapt copy to maximize engagement and conversion based on results and best practices
- Utilize performance data (e.g. open rates, conversion) to inform copy development – ability to review and assess performance within Klaviyo and use weekly results reports to inform copy direction
What We’re Looking For
- Outstanding grammar required
- Performance-driven email copywriting experience is required including campaign emails and triggered flows.
- Skilled at communicating clearly both verbally and in writing; strong ability to craft customer-facing communications in brand tone of voice.
- Demonstrated ability to build the use of AI into their copywriting workflow, while ensuring the end product is in the brand voice.
- Experience in apparel/fashion brands and styling or strong demonstrated interest.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make logical decisions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management and organization skills; meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional integrity.
- Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals.
- Ability to work positively and collaboratively with different groups within the company to advance the company’s stability and growth.
- Be self-motivated and work effectively in a team environment.
- Skilled at communicating clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to proofread own and others’ work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills; willingness to think out-of-the-box to resolve issues.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with Windows (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Mac and Google products, standard applications (Slack, Office365, Chrome, etc.).
- Experience using Figma, Canva, Klaviyo, Shopify, and Asana would be a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 2–3 years of experience email copywriting; experience with retail copywriting preferred
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Work is performed in a standard office environment with a mix of sitting and occasional standing or movement throughout the day
- Regular use of standard office equipment, including computer, keyboard, and mouse
- May occasionally be required to lift or move items up to 20 lbs
- Must be able to work a part-time schedule of 24 hours per week
- Required in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Walnut Creek, CA
