In this role you take on electrical field and thermal calculations for high voltage components and build the calculation basis the development team relies on.
- Perform electric field calculations for high voltage components in AC applications up to 550 kV, in line with IEC and IEEE
- Calculate and assess the thermal behaviour of parts and assemblies under realistic operating conditions
- Set up, run and evaluate FEM simulations
- Analyse existing designs and optimise them with regard to electrical and thermal capability
- Verify calculation approaches and consolidate them into a validated reference basis (Fact Book)
- Document your results in traceable calculation reports and clear technical recommendations
- Work closely with development, design engineering, the test field and production
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field
- Experience in electric field calculation and/or thermal calculation, ideally in high voltage technology
- Working knowledge of FEM simulation, e.g. COMSOL, ANSYS, Abaqus or comparable
- Experience with CAD, ideally SolidWorks, is a plus
- Specific product knowledge is not expected; professional experience is welcome but not required
