Do you enjoy solving complex financial puzzles, working with high-volume transactions, and ensuring accuracy in every detail? Are you someone who takes pride in keeping critical financial processes running smoothly while supporting both internal teams and members behind the scenes?

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing operational excellence, risk management, and member service. This role plays an important part in supporting Mission Fed's back-office deposit and loan servicing operations, helping ensure financial transactions are processed accurately, securely, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. If this sounds like you, here are a few more details about the opportunity for an ECP Operations Specialist.

  • Be a financial operations expert! Process and validate a high volume of deposits, loan payments, loan payoffs, and other financial transactions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Help protect the organization from risk! Review transactions for negotiability, identify anomalies, apply regulatory holds, and support compliance with regulations including Regulation CC and BSA requirements.
  • Put your analytical skills to work! Investigate transaction discrepancies, resolve processing exceptions, perform account adjustments, and help ensure accurate financial records and reporting.
  • Support critical loan and deposit operations! Process incoming loan payoff checks, facilitate title releases, manage legal garnishments and levies, and assist with specialized deposit processing activities.
  • Partner across the organization! Collaborate with Branches, the Contact Center, Accounting, and other departments to answer questions, resolve issues, and provide operational support.
  • Make an impact behind the scenes! Support daily electronic check processing activities, mobile and ATM deposit review, school district deposit processing, reconciliation activities, and process improvement efforts that help drive operational excellence.
  • This is a great opportunity to really have an impact on an organization and in an established Electronic Check Processing Team for a well-respected, established credit union in San Diego County known for its community and member centered focus.

Here is what we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a financial institution, preferably in deposit operations, check processing, loan servicing, account reconciliation, or a related operational environment.
  • Experience processing financial transactions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies, and determine appropriate resolutions.
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations, transaction processing, or financial operations is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment where accuracy matters.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong commitment to internal and member service.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and the ability to learn multiple systems and platforms.
  • Experience with Symitar, Lockbox software, item processing platforms, general ledger balancing, or similar financial systems is preferred.
  • Strong data entry and 10-key skills.
  • Someone who enjoys collaboration, continuous learning, process improvement, and delivering high-quality work every day.

What we offer:

  • A great work environment – our Team Members say so – we’ve won Top Workplaces 5 years including 2026! (#notsohumblebrag)
  • Great team – our Team Members are the best (well we think so!)
  • You can’t beat a role in sunny San Diego, but we support fully remote positions too!
  • 18 days of PTO in your first year plus 12 holidays a year!
  • 6% 401(k) match!
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, etc.
