Electro-Optical Engineer Intern

Applied Materials' Front End Systems is searching for an intern to join our team in summer 2024! This department is developing tools for the front-end of the line semiconductors processing like Si wafer high temperature anneal, oxidation and nitridation. The position will entail the following:
- Assist with laboratory planning experiments, to include: experiment preparation, data collection, analysis and documentation. Some inert gas handling required.
- Lead small development projects involving optical metrology and electrical testing.
- Conduct light source efficiency and lifetime tests to investigate impact on drive current type (AC/DC) in different reflector configurations.
- Support design engineering through procurement, shipping, and inventory functions
Requirements
- Student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Optical Engineering or a related field
- Student must be in good academic standing at their university, with a preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale
- Electrical Engineering hands-on experience especially related to optical and precision device handling in a research or manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with data analysis or statistical tools/software (JMP, Minitab) desired
- Quick learner
Compensation
$35 - 41 per hour
The rate offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and education level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
