Honeybee Robotics is looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician II who can play a pivotal role in the production of diverse mechanical assemblies for cutting-edge aerospace hardware.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow standard workflow documentation and workmanship processes in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 Solder Certification with Space Addendum, NASA-STD-8739.4 Cable Harness Certification, and NASA-STD-8739.1 Polymeric Application Certification. Must obtain required certifications within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Perform soldering tasks including wire terminations, splices, and PCB work.
  • Mix and apply polymerics (epoxy).
  • Assemble and modify cables and harnesses.
  • Conduct precision mechanical assembly using standard and calibrated tools.
  • Utilize specialized instruments for testing and validating assemblies.
  • Report non-conforming material processing.
  • Provide feedback to leadership and engineering for process improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of electro-mechanical technician experience in aerospace, medical or other related industries.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electronic hardware, including torque wrenches, soldering irons, and various hand tools.
  • Proficiency in fabricating complex military/space cables and harnesses, including shielded and unshielded wires, coax, and tri-ax, using crimping, soldering, and other industry-standard termination methods.
  • Experience in layout, assembly, and wiring of complex electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with soldering surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components on circuit card and flex circuit assemblies.
  • Experience collaborating with Quality Control inspectors and Quality Assurance personnel.
  • Possess meticulous attention to detail, high accuracy in following complex work instructions, and proficient hand-eye coordination with standard mechanical and electrical tools, along with excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including mechanical assembly drawings, electrical schematics, interconnect drawings, and wire lists.
  • Familiarity with shop travelers and production procedures.
  • Ability to solder, de-solder, and rework electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to interface and collaborate effectively with Manufacturing and Design Engineering.
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of electronic technician experience.
  • 2-year technical degree or relevant technical certifications.
  • Current certifications for the following workmanship standards needed for the position: IPC J-STD-001 Solder Certification, NASA-STD-8739.4 Cable Harness Certification or IPC-A-620 Space, NASA-STD-8739.1 Polymeric Application Certification or IPC-A-610.
