ELECTRICAL TEST ENGINEER
Reports to: Quality Manager
Summary:
The role of Test Engineers is to thoroughly check materials, procedures and electrical systems to ensure that customers get high-quality, functional products. They run tests on various components and features in order to identify and fix technical issues.
Responsibilities:
- Develop test methods that meet requirements outlined in governing design specifications.
- Write and maintain revision-controlled test instructions for all inspection operations.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Technicians to analyze non-conformances from inspection.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering and Test Technicians to record non-conformances in SAP system on Qnotes and disposition as required.
- Lead a recurring RCCA meeting for internal factory (Q3) Qnotes.
- Manage calibration of measurement equipment with outside calibration vendors.
- Responsible for introduction of new measurement equipment such as ATE’s.
- Perform gage R & R and MSA of measurement equipment as required.
- Support customer Source Inspection as required.
- Support customer audits as required.
- Work with Quality Manager to perform internal audits.
- Work with Quality Manager to develop quality control plans for all product lines.
- Work with Quality Manager to support Design Reviews (CDR's, PDR's and FDR's).
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (Citizen, Green Card).
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified QMS desired.
- Experience with ERP system such as SAP desired.
- Experience with best-practice industry tools such as RCCA, CAPA, PFMEA, 8D Analysis, DMAIC and SPC desired.
- Must be familiar with Windows and Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Power Point)
- Must have experience reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Must have experience with electrical inspection tools and equipment such as ATE, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, function generators, multimeters, hipot testers, etc.
- Must be willing to adapt this job responsibilities as needed.
Skills Required
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Experience reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Experience with electrical inspection tools and equipment, including ATEs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, function generators, multimeters, and hipot testers
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 certified quality management systems
- Experience with an ERP system such as SAP
- Familiarity with RCCA, CAPA, PFMEA, 8D Analysis, DMAIC, and SPC
- Familiarity with Windows, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
