Responsibilities:
Orchestrating the optimization of electrical and instrumentation departments, driving efficiencies, and implementing strategies to curtail costs.
Elevating the technical prowess of hourly staff through bespoke in-house training sessions, enhancing their troubleshooting abilities.
Taking the lead in safety inspections and training programs, fostering a robust safety culture throughout the operation.
Playing a hands-on role in diagnosing and resolving electrical, instrumentation, and control issues to minimize equipment downtime.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise spanning mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, garnered over a minimum of five years.
Extensive maintenance background within sawmill or industrial settings, showcasing your versatility.
Track record of effective leadership and supervision, coupled with a strong commitment to safety protocols such as NFPA 70E and Arc Flash.
Keen eye for quality control practices, coupled with experience in preventative maintenance systems to mitigate unscheduled downtime.
Proficiency in troubleshooting methodologies to ensure optimal uptime, production volumes, and quality targets.
Ability to leverage training resources effectively to enhance technical competencies among team members.
Strong team-building and motivational abilities, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a solid understanding of accounting and financial metrics pertinent to mill operations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and adeptness with computer systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Electronics, or a related field would be advantageous.
Hands-on experience with electrical systems in plant environments, including familiarity with National Electrical Codes, OSHA regulations, AC VFDs, medium voltage equipment, and PLC programming/troubleshooting.
