Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Colorado Licensed Journeyman Electrician to support our Colorado warehouse and logistics operations. This is a year-round, full-time position based in Brighton, Colorado. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations across our Colorado facilities.

Position Classification & Schedule

  • Full-time, Salaried Non-Exempt position
  • Standard schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Additional hours, including Fridays, weekends, holidays, emergency call-ins, and outage support, may be required based on operational needs.
  • Eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.

Essential Job Duties

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment.
  • Respond to electrical issues and production interruptions in a safe and timely manner.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical distribution systems, motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and process equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, electrical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Plan and execute electrical installations and modifications in compliance with applicable codes and company standards.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and safety personnel to support reliable facility operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Current Colorado Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Three to five years of Journeyman Electrician experience preferred.
  • Industrial manufacturing, food processing, warehouse, or continuous-process manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with:
    • 3-phase 480-volt power distribution systems
    • Motor starters and circuit breakers
    • Control wiring
    • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
    • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
    • Medium-voltage systems (preferred)
    • Motors, generators, and other industrial electrical equipment
  • Ability to safely use electrical testing equipment including voltmeters, megohm meters, and ohm meters.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must provide a personal set of Journeyman Electrician hand tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work platforms.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, reach, and work in confined or elevated areas as required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working around moving mechanical equipment in an industrial environment.
