IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in St. Louis, MO. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist experienced engineers and consultants with engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while gaining hands-on exposure to real project work. In this role, you'll support project documentation, coordination, and job site observations while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You'll contribute to healthcare-focused building projects alongside a team with strong full-scope MEP experience, advancing high-performance, and energy-efficient design.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards

  • Assist with researching resources for commercially available equipment

  • Assist with good client relations, project design notebook, and documentation for permanent record files

  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers

  • Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client while monitoring project design progress

  • Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check

  • Assist with preparation and issuance of addendum information

  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement

What You'll Bring

Education and Experience

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interest in design consulting

  • Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
