This position is responsible for the electrical component specification & design on a custom fire apparatus. The candidate must have a good working knowledge of electrical principals.  This role requires an engineer who can take responsibility for apparatus design including providing support to both the manufacturing & sales departments. 


Essential Job Functions

  • Identify, evaluate, initiate, and drive future technology initiatives in electrical component design
  • Creation of electrical schematic drawings consistent with company and industry standards for harness design.
  • Development of bills of materials to support product orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2-dimensional product sales drawings.
  • Develop engineering documents in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Maintain & revision control of engineering documentation for customer orders adhering to company schedule.
  • Assist sales and customers with product interpretation.
  • Assist manufacturing with troubleshooting issues.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-year Engineering degree or 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of CAN bus based electrical systems & Multiplexing vehicle systems.
  • Working Knowledge of SolidWorks 3-D design software & AutoCAD design software.
  • Understanding and knowledge of sheet metal design, manufacturing, and fabrication capabilities.
  • Understanding of Solidworks Enterprise Product Data Management software.
  • Knowledge of Cummins Engine Diagnostics and troubleshooting software.

Skills Required
