The Role
Design, analyze, and test efficient DC-DC converters and electrical power systems for solar and battery storage applications. Develop system requirements, conduct verification testing, write production test procedures, and collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing engineers to create scalable power electronics hardware.
Summary Generated by Built In

Ambrosia Energy is on a mission to make solar + battery systems the fastest-to-deploy and most cost-effective energy source in the US and beyond. As global energy demand surges—driven by the rapid rise of data centers, electric vehicles, and future in-home robotics—the world stands at a critical energy inflection point. To meet this challenge, we need innovative, scalable power sources. Our engineering-led team, with expertise in designing and deploying satellite constellations (Swarm, Starlink Mobile), is now focused on energy on Earth. We're developing affordable, clean energy solutions with new battery storage systems. United by strong team camaraderie, we prioritize speed, rapid iteration, vertical integration, and a test-like-you-fly approach. We're committed to making an impact on the future of energy.

We are designing and developing a distributed battery storage system to pair with solar panels that are quick and easy to install. The system is simple, robust, reliable, and easy to manufacture at scale. The system will include highly efficient DC-DC conversion, solar MPPT, power distribution, no moving parts, and efficient cable management to make everything plug and play in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Design, analyze, and test highly efficient DC-DC power converters for harsh environments that require no fans or active cooling components.

  • Work on electrical power system and sub-system level design trades and develop requirements that are synergistic with the rest of the system.

  • Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis, and write test procedures for the production technicians.

  • Work with multidisciplinary teams of design, test, and production engineers to create new state-of-the-art power electronics hardware.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or other STEM discipline.

  • 1+ years of professional experience in power converter development (internship experience is applicable).

  • Experience in simulation and lab testing of power electronics.

  • Hands-on experience with debugging, testing, and validating electrical systems using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and similar tools.

Preferred Skills or Experience
  • Strong grasp of DC-DC topologies, with ability to select optimal architectures and components.

  • Experience with AC-DC converters.

  • Familiarity with solar arrays as input power sources.

  • Familiarity with lithium-ion battery handling, safety, and usage.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The company is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.
