The Electrical Engineer II is a mid‑level role responsible for the design and development of large‑scale electronic equipment and machinery used in vacuum systems. This position applies electrical engineering principles to deliver safe, reliable, and manufacturable designs using computer‑assisted engineering tools and design software.
The Electrical Engineer II demonstrates proficiency across electrical design concepts, practices, and procedures, and works under management direction to plan and execute project tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and detail electrical components and systems for safe, reliable equipment operation
- Design electrical power distribution systems for vacuum and process equipment
- Design and document equipment control systems
- Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs) in the corporate ERP system
- Perform prototype assembly, wiring, testing, and validation of components and sub‑modules
- Execute cost‑effective engineering improvements to reduce the cost of existing components
- Support engineering projects to meet schedule, cost, quality, and performance targets
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
- Occasional domestic travel may be required
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of electrical design experience
- Strong CAD experience (electrical drawings and schematics)
- Proficiency with industry compliance codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, UL, and CE
- Experience with AutoCAD or other 2D drafting software
- Design experience supporting automated or industrial equipment
