Equinox Engineering USA is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing Pittsburgh team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering electrical engineering designs and documentation for various oil & gas and industrial projects. This position offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team on a diverse range of brownfield and greenfield projects
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical design for industrial facilities, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and motor control systems.
- Develop electrical single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
- Conduct load calculations, short circuit, and arc flash studies.
- Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, and procurement packages.
- Review vendor documentation and coordinate technical input across disciplines.
- Support field construction, commissioning, and startup activities as required.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, API, etc.).
- Participate in internal and client design reviews, providing clear technical recommendations.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of electrical design experience within oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects.
- Experience with AutoCAD and electrical design tools such as ETAP or SKM.
- Strong understanding of power systems, MCC design, instrumentation, and control systems integration.
- P.E. license or eligibility considered an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and detail-oriented approach.
