We are looking for an Electronic Design Engineer who bridges the gap between real-world physics, sensor electronics, and physical hardware. This is a role for a physical-world generalist who understands how light, motion, magnetic fields, vibration, and force interact with custom drive electronics to produce precise physical measurements. You will own the physical hardware bring-up pipeline - from selecting raw sensor elements and designing custom analog/driver electronics, to integrating them into rugged mechanical enclosures, and writing just enough firmware and Python code to test your system and ensure its reliability
REEKON has an exciting roadmap of new products and categories we are working on and looking for a passionate builder who is interested in the intersection of electronics development, sensors, and integration into high volume consumer products. Hustle and figure-it-out attitude interesting in growing their career with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.
To apply for this role, please email [email protected] with a note on why you would be a great fit for REEKON and apply through the posting here.
The Job
- Working with our engineering team in developing new consumer hardware products with tightly integrated mechanical and electrical elements controlled by embedded software.
- Own electronics design for new product lines from early R&D through mass production at our contract manufacturing partner
- Comfortable in conducting independent research and explorations
- Design circuits and system architecture for next-generation tools
- Organize and maintain BOMs
- Implement systems integrations of sensors, displays, and microprocessors into prototypes and products
- Design analog front-ends, signal conditioning, and driver circuits for optical encoders, TOF sensors, IMUs, load cells, and actuators.
Your Background
- 3-5 years industry experience shipping hardware products
- General electronics knowledge; microcontrollers, sensor technologies, communication protocols, motor control, etc.
- PCB schematic capture and layout experience (preferably experience with Altium Designer)
- Familiarity with test equipment, soldering, and debugging techniques
- Comfortable working on hardware to validate and test software (test jigs and product prototypes)
- Medium to advanced experience with embedded firmware development (C/C++)
Bonus Skills
- A track record of personal hardware projects, DIY electronics, or custom YouTube / blog / portfolio-style builds that demonstrate raw curiosity.
- Python, Unix/Linux
- Firmware/Embedded Engineering experience
- Fabricating physical prototypes (3D Printing, laser cutting, etc.)
- Passion for making things
