Under the general direction of the Lead Technologist and Physicians, greets patients and is responsible for the set-up and testing of out-patient tests; cardiac holter monitors, EKG’s, and assisting with Cardiac Stress Testing. All duties must be carried out in accordance with regulatory federal, state, and local standards; and organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Communicates with Physicians, patients and visitors while maintaining patient’s confidentiality.
QualificationsMinimal Qualifications
Education level equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school. Preference will be given to a student enrolled and progressing in an accredited college’s Respiratory Science program. Basic office skills, to include obtaining and documenting patient demographic information, vital signs and food/medication allergies. Must be familiar with medical terminology and cardiac/pulmonary testing procedures. Customer service, basic verbal and written communications skills. Basic computer skills required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare provider certification required.
Physical/Mental Demands
- Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk, and bend intermittently throughout the work day. Lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the applicant to adequately fulfill the requirements of this position.
- Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
