EHS Specialist (m/f/d)
Your Responsibilities:
- Occupational Safety Specialist: Take on the role of Occupational Safety Specialist (Sifa) according to the German Occupational Safety Act (ASiG) and DGUV Regulation 2, working closely with safety officers.
- Fire Safety Officer: Take on the role of Fire Safety Officer and work closely with fire safety and evacuation helpers.
- Safety Coordination: Advise, support, and oversee all processes related to occupational safety, health protection, and accident prevention. Prepare, conduct, and follow up on ASA (Occupational Safety Committee) meetings, including protocol management and follow-up on actions.
- Management and coordination of mandatory occupational medical examinations: Organization, scheduling, and documentation of all legally required occupational health and fitness examinations in close cooperation with the company doctor.
- EHS Management System Development and Implementation: Standardize EHS practices and ensure the continuous improvement of occupational safety, health, and fire protection systems at our two German locations (Osnabrück and Burg), in close cooperation with local teams as well as regional and corporate leaders.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with legal requirements (e.g., ArbSchG, BetrSichV, GefStoffV, DGUV, environmental regulations, etc.). Monitor adherence to local and global standards. Coordinate with regulatory authorities and implement necessary actions to meet safety requirements.
- Training and Awareness: Plan and/or conduct trainings and briefings (e.g., in accordance with ArbSchG, first aid, fire safety officers, safety officers, forklift and crane operators). Foster a positive safety culture within the company.
- Audits and Risk Analysis: Analyze incidents, develop and implement corrective and preventive measures. Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits, create risk assessments and evaluate them to minimize risks.
- Coordination and Communication: Work closely with authorities, trade associations, company doctors, and internal departments. Collaborate with various departments to conduct safety inspections, audits, and develop safety concepts. Engage employees through safety committees, workshops, inspections, and initiatives to promote the safety culture.
Your Profile:
- A degree in EHS, engineering, safety technology, or a comparable technical qualification.
- Completed training as an Occupational Safety Specialist (Sifa).
- Fire Safety Qualification: Completed fire safety training (Parts 1 & 2).
- All necessary certifications and qualifications (e.g., Authorized Person for inspections, fire safety qualifications, DGUV certificates) – either already obtained or willingness to acquire.
- Several years of experience in occupational safety and fire protection in a manufacturing environment. Experience working at multiple locations is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of German safety regulations and standards as well as relevant legal requirements (e.g., ArbSchG, DGUV, etc.).
- Experience working with regulatory authorities, especially in environmental and occupational safety areas.
- Fluent in both German and English (required).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Independent work style, leadership skills, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Willingness to travel: Approx. 25% of the time will be required for business trips between the two German locations in Osnabrück and Burg.
