About Patriot Erectors, LLC

Build something that lasts — with a team that has your back.

Patriot Erectors is a full-service, AISC-Certified Steel Fabricator and AISC-Certified Advanced Steel Erector. Since 1991, from our modern 60,000-square-foot facility just west of Austin, Texas, we’ve fabricated and erected structural steel for complex buildings and non-building structures — with a relentless focus on quality, safety, and pride in every project.

People come first here. Our mission is to fabricate and erect steel that meets or exceeds our customers’ requirements — without defects or accidents. We invest in understanding what our market, customers, and employees need, and we live by five values that spell exactly who we are:

STEEL — Safety, Teamwork, Ethics, Enthusiasm, and Leadership.

Our vision is simple: Recognize a Need & Fulfill It. We seek out steel-related opportunities and take on challenges to deliver outcomes that are mutually respected and mutually beneficial — fueling growth for our employees, our stakeholders, and the communities we call home.

About the Role

Patriot Erectors is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health, and Safety activities at an assigned manufacturing facility.

This position serves as the primary EHS resource for the facility and partners directly with Shop Operations Leadership, supervisors, and employees to identify risk, maintain regulatory compliance, investigate incidents, deliver training, and continuously improve workplace safety.

Our manufacturing operations include steel fabrication, welding, CNC and cutting equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, MEWPs, paint operations, material handling, and other industrial processes.

Depending on facility size and operational needs, this position may have direct reports. Regardless of staffing structure, the EHS Manager is responsible for the overall execution and effectiveness of the site's EHS program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day EHS activities for the assigned manufacturing facility.
  • Partner with Operations Leadership and supervisors to integrate safety into production and work planning.
  • Conduct facility inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and employee observations.
  • Coordinate and review JHAs, Pre-Task Plans, toolbox talks, and other hazard-control processes.
  • Identify workplace hazards and work with Operations to develop practical corrective actions.
  • Lead incident and near-miss investigations, Root Cause Analysis, corrective action development, and follow-up.
  • Coordinate and deliver new-hire orientation, employee safety training, and applicable field employee training.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable OSHA, environmental, fire and life safety, and company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation, training records, inspection results, corrective actions, and EHS system information.
  • Coordinate safety equipment and PPE inventory needs with Operations and Procurement.
  • Review EHS performance, incident trends, inspection findings, and other data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of company EHS programs, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Exercise Stop Work Authority when an immediate or unacceptable safety risk is identified.
  • Lead, coach, and develop assigned EHS personnel when applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety role.
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA standards applicable to manufacturing and industrial operations.
  • Experience with incident investigations, hazard assessments, inspections, audits, employee training, and corrective action management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, supervisors, Operations Leadership, and senior management.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic EHS systems, reporting tools, and other computer-based applications.
  • OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 501 Trainer Course credential, or ability to obtain as required for the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Manufacturing, steel fabrication, construction, or other high-hazard industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • BCSP certification such as CSP, ASP, SMS, CHST, or similar professional designation.
  • Additional Train-the-Trainer credentials for forklifts, MEWPs, fall protection, rigging, First Aid/CPR/AED, or other applicable disciplines.
  • Previous experience leading or mentoring EHS personnel.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position supporting an active steel fabrication and manufacturing environment. The position requires regular presence throughout production areas and the ability to safely access areas necessary to evaluate work activities.

The normal schedule is Monday through Friday during the operating hours of the assigned facility. Regular travel is not expected, although limited local travel may be required for training, meetings, or other business needs.

The employee must be able and willing to wear required personal protective equipment and work around the environmental conditions associated with manufacturing and steel fabrication operations.
