We’re looking for an experienced EHS Manager to lead Environmental, Health & Safety programs across Finland. In this key role, you’ll ensure compliance with legislation and PPG’s global standards, drive continuous improvement in EHS practices in collaboration with the local EHS team and site management team.
Key responsibilities:
- EHS Strategy Implementation: Develop and align local EHS plans with operational leadership in line with PPG’s corporate and regional strategies. Provide proactive feedback to ensure the long-term sustainability of EHS initiatives.
- Legal Compliance & Authority Liaison: coordinating all external communications related to EHS compliance.
- Problem Solving & Policy Development: Analyze complex EHS issues, develop solutions, and implement policy improvements. Leverage innovative thinking and analytical skills to adapt methods and address varying challenges.
- Incident Management: Oversee the investigation of incidents, injuries, and hazards. Validate findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Technical Oversight & Reporting: Support technical H&S programs to ensure full compliance with internal standards and external regulations. Supervise report preparation and recommend improvement actions.
- Leadership & Team Development: Manage EHS programs and coach the site leadership team and professionals. Foster and drive a strong safety culture across the organization
To succeed in the role, you have
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of EHS experience, including 3+ years in a senior EHS role.
- Expertise in Finnish legislation and EU safety directives (Seveso, ATEX, CE machinery, etc.).
- Proven ability to lead EHS programs independently and in complex environments
- Executive mindset with experience aligning EHS with business objectives
- Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English; able to engage all organizational levels.
