Our EHS Manager is responsible for ensuring Life Fitness's Ramsey manufacturing facility continues to be a safe and healthy workplace by providing the knowledge and experience necessary to directly alleviate safety and environmental concerns through the initiation of proactive and corrective activities and maintain full regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, our EHS Manager will implement and manage environmental, health, and safety plans and policies to ensure a safe and healthy workforce and work environment.
Essential Job Functions:

  • Proactively inspect the facility to identify and resolve safety, health, and environmental risks
  • Develop, implement, and maintain environmental, health, and safety programs/policies, training, and metrics to ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manage, review, and audit AIC Safety Management System in accordance with corporate guidelines
  • Serve as technical resource to management (to achieve overall environmental, safety operational and business objectives) and employees regarding safety and environmental concerns
  • Lead and participate in the following programs:
    • Safety Committee, Ergonomic Committee, General Workplace Inspection (GWI) program, Emergency Response Team (ERT), Job Safety Analysis (JSA) system
  • Manage the Incident Investigation Report (IIR) process and participate in the analysis of all safety incidents and near misses with department managers to define and deploy safety solutions
  • Monitor and oversee environmental programs with consultant/auditor and facilities team to ensure compliance and best practices
  • Ensure Safety Data Sheets are maintained and readily accessible
  • Manage the Site Security System and related practices
  • Subject matter expert on all safety, compliance, regulatory and related insurance requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications and Skills Needed:
Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industrial safety or related field and minimum of 3 years' leadership experience with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations within an manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA regulations and compliance methods.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and experience training diverse groups.
  • Must possess strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


Preferred

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of ergonomic programs and analysis tools.


Working Conditions:
Requires lifting of 35 lbs. occasionally and a combination of shop floor and office environment. In some areas of shop floor, hearing protection is required.
