Environmental Health & Safety Group
Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that all facilities are in compliance with regulations.

Environmental Health & Safety
Provides environmental, health and safety management and direction to the monitoring and audit of analytics, implementation support, and consulting services to various levels of management. Provides services that may include safety, contractor safety, occupational health, process safety, fire protection, environmental, distribution, and ergonomics. Provides key contribution to strategy development. Ensures corporate governance, regulatory needs and sustainability initiatives are met. Provides oversight and development support for key EH&S systems company-wide. Organizes, supports and ensures all specialized safety health and environmental competency networks are functioning in an efficient manner. May provide support for mergers and acquisitions implementation plans.

Experienced professional or supervisor with in-depth knowledge in a technical or specialized area, responsible for completing complex tasks requiring interpretation of policies and practices, under minimal supervision. May supervise employees, focused on task performance, and recommend improvements to the delivery of specialized processes
• Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and advanced knowledge of related job disciplines.
• Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and differentiators in the market.
• Has built a detailed understanding of market, function, processes and policies gained through multiple years of experience.
• Interprets and applies organizational policies; recommends changes/improvements to specialized processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Ensure EH&S work processes, standards and procedures are effectively applied in the site through role assignment and training.

Utilize the Expertise Centers and obtain clear interpretations for issues. Collaborate, leverage and ensure connectivity with EHS Sustainability/Business Services/Ops Expertise Services (Training/Learning/reliability, etc.) in order to ensure seamless support of all EHS performance improvement activities. Identify, escalate and resolve as appropriate potential EHS risks.

Participate in the investigation of EH&S incidents using the global EH&S process

Identify opportunities and facilitate the process to leverage EHS resources (specialists, technicians, sub-committee).

Address incident and audit corrective actions that involve systems deficiencies. Responsible to the EHS Hub Leader & Site Leader to plan resources and determine specific business needs.

Assure that the compliance process in the units is in place and functioning. Accountable for cost-effective implementation of EHS systems through standard work processes and common systems.

Own and implement the site EHS work processes, tools and procedures.

Be responsible for Contractor Administrating in site.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in safety engineer, OH, chemical or equivalent. Registered safety engineer is preferred.

Working experience: Minimum 5-year related plant experience of management in MNC company with 3-year EHS managerial or coordination level experience. Language: Good oral and written English.

Leadership or functional competency: Proven ability to lead/coordinate teams, influence operations, and build consensus opinions.

Others: Effective presentation/training/facilitation skills.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in safety engineering, occupational health, chemical engineering, or an equivalent field
  • At least five years of related plant experience in a multinational corporation
  • At least three years of EHS management or coordination-level experience
  • Good oral and written English communication skills
  • Ability to lead and coordinate teams, influence operations, and build consensus
  • Effective presentation, training, and facilitation skills
  • Good health and ability to meet the position's health requirements
  • Registered safety engineer certification
