Honeybee Robotics is looking for an EHS Engineer III to participate in and lead initiatives that provide for the safety and health of employees. In this role, you will report into Blue Origin's EHS team and will be accountable to Honeybee Robotics Vice Presidents day-to-day. As a member of our diverse and high-performing team, your expertise in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) will play a critical role in driving our engineering and production activities towards the highest safety standards. You will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations and bolstering our culture of safety across Honeybee Robotics' sites.
Responsibilities:
- Lead compliance efforts with OSHA, DOT, NFPA, ANSI, PSM, NEPA, RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, NPDES and other relevant federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain and continuously improve our Health and Safety Manual and emergency response plans.
- Conduct safety hazard analyses, manage hazardous waste, and champion incident investigations.
- Design and implement robust EHS training, ensuring that all employees are equipped for safety.
- Initiate preventative measures for continuous process improvement in safety and industrial hygiene.
- Supervise operations involving cryogenics, ordnance, and other hazardous tasks.
- Perform comprehensive facility inspections and conduct PPE assessments.
- Apply analytical skills for technical writing and interpretation of complex safety regulations.
- Drive job hazard analyses and conduct periodic audits to enhance our EHS Programs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or occupational safety.
- A history of building trust and fostering positive, professional relationships, contributing to our culture of inclusion.
- Proficiency with applicable safety and California/Colorado environmental regulations and Process Safety Management methods.
- Ability to effectively communicate and disseminate intricate technical information.
- Capacity to handle physical duties including lifting, climbing, standing, and working in varying weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work extended hours, shifts, and weekends as necessary.
- 6+ years of overall work experience with 2+ years in an operational aerospace, manufacturing, or chemical environment.
- Ability to travel frequently between Honeybee Robotics' locations in California, Colorado, and Maryland.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years of overall work experience
- 5+ years in aerospace, manufacturing, or chemical industry settings.
- Expertise with the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101).
- HAZMAT, HAZWOPER, emergency response experience
- ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM certification.
