ResponsibilitiesSkills Required to Make a Great “Impression” on Our Team
As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will work closely with the dentist and clinical team to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities include:*Perform expanded-function dental assisting duties within the scope of applicable state laws and regulations.*Assist the dentist with restorative, preventive, and other clinical procedures.*Prepare teeth, instruments, materials, and treatment rooms for procedures.*Take radiographs, impressions, digital scans, and other diagnostic records as directed.*Provide authorized preventive services such as sealants and fluoride treatments.*Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records.*Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection-control, sterilization, and safety standards.*Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked clinical environment.*Educate patients regarding treatment procedures and appropriate post-operative care.*Communicate effectively with the dentist and dental team to ensure efficient patient flow and excellent patient care.*Maintain dental instruments, equipment, and clinical supplies.*Maintain all required EFDA credentials, certifications, and continuing education.The ideal candidate is clinically confident, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with the dental team.
QualificationsSo How Can You “Fill” This Role?
- EFDA Certification required per state requirements
- Radiography licensure for respective state requirements
- 1-5 years of experience preferred
- CPR Certification is required
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of dental charting software and digital x-rays with the ability to learn new programs as necessary
