As an EF Manufacturing Cost & Coverage Controller / Improvement Lead, you act as a strong partner for the finance organization. You add value by providing timely historical and forward-looking financial plans and insights to enable high-quality decision-making. You pursue world-class results by improving business performance management processes and performing high-quality analyses. In addition to these activities, you focus on enhancing processes and driving continuous improvement to generate high-quality insights that enable more efficient and effective decision-making.
 

Role and responsibilities

As Manufacturing Controller EF Manufacturing Cost & Coverage Controller / Improvement Lead, you have the following responsibilities:

  • Delivering business insights on production performance and factory coverage, with a focus on production variances and the allocation of overhead, labor, and facility costs to production work orders.
  • Own and drive the GMF Manufacturing improvement roadmap, delivering process enhancements, standardization, and operational excellence.
  • Lead a small team responsible for creating transparency and reporting in these areas.

In your role you:

  • Identify, communicate, and monitor financial risks and opportunities, and translate them into executable actions aimed at improving business performance, mainly in the area of OPEX coverage and production work orders.
  • Take a proactive role in preparing and managing the business line’s long-term financial plan, global annual budget cycle, and monthly financial reviews, ensuring high-quality planning information in terms of relevance, content, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Drive continuous improvement by initiating and executing changes together with subject matter experts involved in the processes, enhancing the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of financial planning information, tools, processes, analysis, and organization.
  • You lead a small team responsible for operational activities within the Global Manufacturing domain, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, strengthen capabilities, and elevate the team's overall performance and impact.
  • Compare actual production results and factory coverage with standards, and investigate which offsetting P&L accounts may also be impacted.
  • Collaborate with and challenge other teams to achieve high-quality standards.

Education and experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Economics, preferably followed by an RC, RA, CPA, or ACCA qualification.
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience in a Finance environment.
  • Experience leading a small team.
  • Experience with management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex financial processes, planning applications (SAP preferred), and related tools such as SAP BW, SAC, and BI reporting.
  • Preferably experience in a high-tech environment within an international public group, with a proven track record of quickly understanding complex content.

  • Willingness to understand SAP and reporting logic (Spotfire / BW) and perform deep dives to investigate bottlenecks or improvement areas.
  • Ability to guide and advise at all organizational levels to effect sustainable change and improve the process maturity level of the finance organization.
  • Team player, enjoys working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams with the ability to work independently;
  • Own quality and be guided by awareness of customer impact.
