About Roguebeam

Roguebeam is a startup developing advanced phased array systems for communications and radar applications. We design and manufacture complete systems in-house—RF, antenna, PCB, digital, and DSP—giving our engineers end-to-end ownership of the technology and a direct line of sight from algorithm to deployed system.

We’re early, we’re growing fast, and the people who join us now will shape both the technology and the company.

About the Role

We're looking for an Electrical Engineer to own the entire lifecycle of electronics hardware that will form the backbone of our phased array products. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, interact with software, RF, antenna, mechanical and thermal engineers and actively participate in system trades and product engineering. You will work from concept through production so the role will require strong engineering fundamentals and be also fully hands-on. Your work will include system design (e.g. driving requirements for silicon chip development and production tests) schematic capture, component selection, oversight of PCB layout and manufacturing, hardware bring-up and trouble shooting.

Responsibilities
  • Develop electronics (power supply, high speed digital communication/interface etc.) for phased arrays with strong emphasis on reliability across the full product life cycle.

  • Participate in overall system trades with other engineers (RFIC, antenna, thermal, mechanical, layout etc.)

  • Own the functional requirements of electrical systems, lead schematic capture, component selection, and collaborate with PCB layout designers

  • Own rapid prototyping and bench-verification of various electrical subsystems

  • Lead/contribute to fully functional phased array hardware bring-up, test, troubleshooting and integration onto different platforms (satellite, drone, ground vehicles etc.).

  • Lead/contribute to production, in-field performance monitoring and documentation of complex phased array products for different customers.

  • Provide hands-on support through product life cycle.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, physics or a related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in electronics circuits, or hardware design (internships or thesis acceptable).

  • Familiarity with basic lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, power supplies etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of work (professional) experience or Master’s degree in electrical engineering

  • 2+ years of professional experience in prototyping, troubleshooting and debugging electronics/PCBA

  • 2+ years of experience in mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz Serdes, DRAM interfaces (DDR4 or DDR5), I2C, SPI, OPAMP, ADCs/DACs

  • Working experience of programming languages (Python, C/C++) for real-time scripting during bring-up in the lab and development of test procedures for production.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, start-up atmosphere with extreme ownership.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Notes
  • Export control: This role involves technology subject to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR/EAR). Applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)), or otherwise eligible under applicable export authorizations.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in electronics circuits or hardware design; internships or thesis experience accepted
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience or a master's degree in electrical engineering
  • At least 2 years of professional experience prototyping, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics or PCB assemblies
  • At least 2 years of experience designing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production
  • Experience with processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz SerDes, DRAM interfaces, DDR4 or DDR5, I2C, SPI, OPAMPs, ADCs, and DACs
  • Programming experience with Python, C, or C++ for real-time lab scripting and production test procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with extreme ownership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. person status or eligibility under applicable U.S. export authorizations
