Job Description  

The Daily Beast is seeking a talented, motivated, and dependable intern to join our award-winning pop culture site The Daily Beast’s Obsessed. Open to undergraduate juniors and seniors, graduate students and post-grads, the internship is an exciting opportunity for emerging journalists to learn how a newsroom works while gaining hands-on experience. The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week) for a three-month period, with the possibility to renew, and may include some evening and weekend shifts.
Ideal candidates are pop culture obsessives who can work quickly, write cleanly, and both take initiative and direction. They should be entrenched in the world of TV, movies, and celebrity culture, and be able to filter the trends and news of the day through The Daily Beast’s Obsessed witty and engaging tone.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, as we are always looking for eager and talented candidates—at present, we are in particular looking for interns to work across Spring/Summer 2025 dates.

Qualifications

* Experience writing breaking news.

* A voracious news diet and appetite for pop culture and the online discourse that surrounds it. 

* Prior knowledge of web publishing and using a content management system is a plus.

* Comfort meeting quick deadlines.

The pay range for this position is: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and other factors. The Daily Beast is a globally recognized publication at IAC with our headquarters in New York City.
