The Macroeconomic Research unit is an integral part of the investment process at Swiss Life Asset Managers, which manages the balance sheet of Swiss Life Group, various securities, real estate, and infrastructure funds as well as assets of a growing number of institutional clients. The team prepares economic analyses, scenarios and forecasts for our main markets and communicates them to internal and external clients. We assume a Group function within the cross-border organisation in Switzerland, France, Germany, the Nordics and the UK. We are looking for you to join our team as a Junior Economist. We are located at our head office in Zurich.

Responsibilities

  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of economic, demographic and market data
  • Supporting the team with macroeconomic analyses, presentation materials and other research-related administrative tasks
  • Coordinating the editorial process of our publications with the aim of achieving efficiency gains using the available IT and AI tools.
  • Opportunity to take over the country coverage of a smaller market.
  • Opportunity to present the results of country analyses and research findings on pertinent topics in the monthly investment meetings and other internal or external forums.
  • Writing contributions for articles and publications.

Experience

  • We welcome applications from PhD or Master's students in economics seeking to work alongside their studies, as well as economists with work experience wishing to work part-time
  • Ability to apply macroeconomic theory to the analysis of ongoing market developments.
  • Experience with quantitative methods, data analysis and econometrics.
  • Eagerness to use AI applications to achieve efficiency gains.
  • Strong editorial skills and ability to present views and findings to different target audiences.
  • Interest in financial markets and asset management.
  • An open-minded team player with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Proficiency in English and German. Good knowledge of French and/or Italian is highly appreciated.
