Economic & Market Research Analyst

We are looking for an Economic & Market Research Analyst to join our onsite Kaiser Aluminum in Franklin, Tennessee!  This role provides in-depth market research from various sources and is centric to the Kaiser’s planning and reporting process

Market Research Needs:

• Utilize various data sources, both internal and external, to gain market insight, primarily focused in our key markets of aerospace, automotive, general engineering, and packaging.
• Monitor trends from market customers, competition and suppliers to broaden understanding.
• Partner with Kaiser’s Commercial Team to gain insight into product categories, market trends, customer preferences and other relevant market information.
• Monitor supply chain inventory levels and that impact on demand trends.
• Gather, analyze and forecast future outcomes with large data sets to provide insight into industry and economic drivers.
• Maintaining and expanding upon existing models that track relevant economics factors, industry & market drivers and other relevant market information.
• Maintain a strong relation with Kaiser’s key associations, including the aluminum Association, to report and track global and North America production, imports and export activity.
• Attend industry conferences and other trade shows that would provide insight into research process.
• Prepare detailed reports of findings to various in-house customer groups, through visualizations that best articulate industry trends.

What you will bring to the role:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or applicable business degree with a pedigree for using data to answer business problems.
• Prior experience gathering, organizing and reporting upon industry, economic and other relevant data sources.
• Experience with MS Excel, Power BI , PPT, Access Database and/or other relevant platforms;
• Experience with Data Analysis program – R is preferred.
• Predicative modeling capability a plus but not required.
• Three statement modeling (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, & Cash Flow) or a thorough understanding of financial modeling is a plus.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Proven ability and preference to work in teams.
• Extremely high attention to detail.
• An analytical mind with superior problem solving aptitude.
• Efficient multitasker with excellent project prioritization.

• The role will be a full time, in office role at our Corporate Office’s in Franklin TN.
