PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform echocardiography and vascular procedures
- Check rooms and equipment, restock supplies, and review patient schedules
- Schedule patients
- Read physician orders
- Enter patient information into system
- Obtain quality images by positioning and repositioning transducer
- Print graphics and data; calculating measurements of heart wall, chamber size, blood flow direction, and velocity
- Maintain ultrasound equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an accredited program in diagnostic medical sonography.
EXPERIENCE:
One or more years of work experience in echocardiography and vascular technology.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid registry/certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S.) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S.); and/or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (C.C.I.) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (R.C.S.); BCLS Certified or willing and able to be certified within a reasonable period

Skills Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
- One or more years of work experience in echocardiography and vascular technology
- Valid ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer certification and/or CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification
- BCLS certification, or willingness and ability to obtain certification within a reasonable period
