Job Description

Emergency and Critical Care Nurses (ECC) (Part time & Casual Opportunities)

As an Emergency and Critical Care nurse at ARH Brisbane, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care within our emergency department. Working closely with our ECC veterinarians and specialists, you’ll be hands-on and deeply involved in providing advanced nursing support to a diverse range of emergency cases.

You’ll be mentored by ECC Team Leader Tailah and Nursing Manager Jenna and welcomed into a close-knit team that prides itself on exceptional patient care, collaboration and fun banter! 

Our emergency nurses gain hands-on experience and loads of opportunities to grow. From on-the-job training to a shiny new ICU unit, we’re all about helping you thrive in your career.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent with a minimum 3 years of nursing experience in a busy general practice or experience in a referral (specialist hospital) or emergency setting
  • Availability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 rotating roster
  • A friendly, easy-going nature, capable of working both independently and as part of a team
  • A strong work ethic, efficiency, and multitasking abilities
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality patient care under busy conditions
  • Proficiency in anaesthetic monitoring and nursing critical and ventilated patients advantageous
  • Familiarity with RX Works, Smartflow, and Idexx blood machines advantageous
