SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB:

The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Dynatrace monitoring solutions and will play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and optimization of our clients' cloud environments through advanced monitoring and analytics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and configure Dynatrace monitoring solutions across various environments, ensuring optimal performance and visibility into application performance.
  • Develop and implement logging, tracing, and monitoring strategies that align with clients' needs and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to integrate Dynatrace with existing systems and workflows.
  • Analyze performance metrics and provide insights and recommendations to improve application and infrastructure performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, using Dynatrace and other monitoring tools.
  • Create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time and historical visibility into system performance.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and best practices in Dynatrace, and advocate for their adoption where applicable.
  • Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning for cloud-based environments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring processes and tools within the organization.
  • Provide support and training to team members and clients on Dynatrace capabilities and usage.
  • Share knowledge and skills with other Trek10 team members and client teams
  • Write cool blog posts, do talks at community events, help us achieve additional certifications in the AWS Partner Community, help our clients solve all sorts of problems
  • Occasional travel may be required to meet stakeholders, kick off new projects, attend conferences, and attend company functions.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc) 
  • 5+ years of experience in application performance monitoring, with at least 2 years focused on Dynatrace.
  • Proficiency in deploying and managing Dynatrace in AWS cloud environments to provide infrastructure monitoring.. 
  • Understanding of containerized deployments using AWS Elastic Container Service using Fargate.
  • Proficiency in deploying and configuring applications using the Dynatrace OneAgent and associated SDKs.
  • Understanding of instrumenting applications using OTEL libraries to report trace and metric data to Dynatrace, preferably with Django and Flask applications.
  • Proficiency with configuration of Dynatrace ActiveGate resources
  • Ability to configure observability via Dynatrace resources with applications written in Python and one other language, e.g. NodeJS, Java, etc. 
  • Strong understanding of application performance management, including metrics, baselines, and alerting.
  • 3+ years experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or similar).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Have worked with Agile Project Management or other project management work methodologies
  • If working in our Federal Practice area: 
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen 
    • Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; 
  • Have an AWS Cloud Architect Associate, Sysops Associate, Developers Associate, DevOps Professional, and/or Solutions Architect Professional Certification
  • Have an AWS and/or Dynatrace Specialty Certification 
  • Intermediate experience building scalable, automated infrastructure
  • Intermediate experience with AWS Lambda and “Serverless” systems
  • Intermediate experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments
  • Intermediate experience working in a consultative, client-facing consulting role
  • Intermediate experience with Cloud Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda
  • Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
  • If working for our Federal Practice area
    • Previous or current experience with Federal / Government stakeholders 
    • Intermediate experience with newer ATO strategies such as Fast Track or Continuous ATO
