What you’ll do…

As the Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant, you’ll support the operational needs of engineering, manufacturing, accounting, supply chain, operations, and maintenance. You’ll work closely with business teams to ensure our Dynamics 365 Business Central environment drives efficiency and scalability across a multi-entity setup. Acting as the primary liaison between business users and technical partners, this role ensures system stability, data integrity, and the effective adoption of Business Central across finance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and optimize a multi-company Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment across finance and operation
  • Drive functional improvements across purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
  • Lead configuration, implementation, and customization of Business Central modules, including Manufacturing, Inventory Costing, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Service Management, and Insight Works.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert providing first- and second-level functional support, troubleshooting issues across finance, inventory, projects, and reporting.
  • Partner with developers to design, test, and deliver enhancements, customizations, and integrations, coordinating with external partners as needed.
  • Configure and maintain core system setups, including chart of accounts, posting groups, dimensions, workflows, approvals, and role-based security.
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities, including costing, WIP, inventory valuation, and financial controls. 
  • Lead testing efforts for system changes, including functional testing, UAT coordination, release validation, and issue triage. 
  • Create and maintain operational and financial reporting, documentation, and user guides that enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide end-user training, onboarding, and change management support while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement and ERP best-practice adoption.

Requirements

Basic (Required) Qualifications and Experience :

  • Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, covering both functional and technical aspects in a manufacturing-focused environment.
  • Strong expertise in Business Central configuration, customization, and solution design across core ERP modules.
  • Deep understanding of ERP finance and operational processes, including GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, purchasing, inventory management, and manufacturing.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements and ambiguous needs into effective functional ERP solutions.
  • Experience supporting Business Central deployments, enhancements, integrations Insight Works), and upgrades.
  • Comfortable working directly with business stakeholders and accounting teams to deliver practical, business-aligned solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical users.
  • Demonstrated customer-service mindset, flexibility, and ability to adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Strong organizational skills with a continuous improvement and problem-solving mindset.
  • Background working closely with developers, technical consultants, and external partners on customizations and integrations.
