Team / division overview

The CFO Division of DWS has presence in Frankfurt, London, New York and Asia and is responsible for ensuring the sound risk management and financial governance of DWS.  The CFO Division comprises Accounting & Financial Management, Risk Management, Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Accounting, Regional Finance, and Procurement.

Your key responsibilities

  • Produce and manage timely delivery of monthly reports on compensation profit & loss and balance sheet
  • Collaborate with Compensation Control SME’s in providing insightful business analysis and commentaries on compensation cost trends, and deviations from forecast and plan.
  • Support data aggregation, analysis and reporting in the area of deferred compensation
  • Develop a sound understanding of the deferred compensation and able to provide backup support to the SME
  • Perform month-end journals and ensure accuracy and completeness in our financials
  • Be a point of contact to manage month- end close, ensure numbers are reported accurately, and late adjustment are reported to the relevant teams
  • Perform validation and control on assigned compensation topics
  • Preparing relevant documentation and regular updates of the DWS Compensation Control Framework

Your skills and experience

  • Qualified accountant who has experience in financial controller role or auditor role in a large financial institution/ Big 4 audit firms
  • Prior experience with IAS19 and IFRS2 is a plus but not essential
  • High level of control mindset and investigative working approach
  • Ability to see the big picture and being able to connect various topics  that impact the overall compensation book of work
  • Highly analytical, excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proactive, curious, willing to challenge the status quo and keen to learn new skills/ knowledge
  • Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
  • Strong skills in Excel and Power Point
  • Critical thinking and control mindset
  • Self-sufficient and results-driven
