What You’ll Be Doing:
- Overseeing daily dredging work — from moving equipment to handling sediment and water.
- Leading the dredge crew and keeping subcontractors and equipment operators on track.
- Lining up work plans and schedules with the rest of the team, including project managers and engineers.
- Tracking progress, documenting what’s happening on-site, and flagging any delays or issues.
- Looking for ways to do the job better, faster, and more cost-effectively.
- Making sure we’re playing by the rules — especially when it comes to permits and environmental standards.
- Staying on top of dredge equipment maintenance to keep things running smoothly.
- Partnering with environmental inspectors and agencies to make sure we’re doing things right.
- Acting as the go-to person for clients and anyone else involved in the dredging side of things.
- At least 4 years of experience in dredging or heavy civil work, including some time in a leadership role. A degree in a related field is a plus but not required.
- Solid understanding of hydraulic and mechanical dredging methods and the gear involved.
- A working knowledge of environmental rules and permits (like those from the USACE or EPA).
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills — someone who can communicate well and keep the team motivated.
- Willingness to travel and work outdoors in all kinds of conditions.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outside in all kinds of weather.
- Be okay with working long hours or night shifts when the project calls for it.
