The AS-IS Drafting Coordinator (MEP) is responsible for developing accurate AS-IS condition drawing sets in support of facility management and ongoing building operations. This role consolidates original construction documents, record drawings, and documented field modifications into coordinated drawing sets, with a strong emphasis on Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
The position requires a strong understanding of how building systems are documented and how these records are used by facility and maintenance teams. The AS-IS Project Manager works closely with cross-functional teams and on-site maintenance staff to establish efficient workflows that support repairs, asset tracking, and day-to-day facility operations. Deliverables must be accurate, consistent, and suitable for long-term facility use.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Architecture, or related engineering discipline
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems in existing facilities
- 5+ years of proficiency in AutoCAD, including production, coordination, and maintenance of MEP drawing sets
- Demonstrated experience producing and maintaining existing-condition and record drawing documentation
- Strong ability to interpret MEP construction documents, record drawings, and field markups
- Ability to accurately document system layouts, equipment locations, and major distribution paths
- Solid knowledge of Revit for model navigation, review, coordination, and exporting drawings to CAD and PDF formats
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and manage architectural, structural, and MEP drawing sets
- Experience consolidating information from multiple drawing sources into a single coordinated deliverable
- Ability to coordinate with facility maintenance staff and incorporate field-verified information into drawing updates
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet established schedules in an active facilities environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with space management workflows
- Familiarity with asset tracking and IWMS/CAFM systems
- Experience working in occupied facilities
Compensation
- Salary Range: $85,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
