Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Drafter to prepare detailed drawings and BOM's of Huck Installation Equipment, build and analyze prototypes, perform experiments to test efficacy of designs, and provide feedback to Engineers This position reports to the Lead Design Engineer in Kingston, NY fastener installation tooling manufacturing facility.

Our products are used nose to tail on commercial and military aircraft, as well as on jet engines, industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, wind turbines, solar power systems, and construction and industrial equipment.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately details parts and assemblies;

  • Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing;

  • Prepares required engineering notices and record prints;

  • Create design specifications, documentation, material lists and BOMs;

  • Prepares layout drawings as required to support design and engineering efforts;

  • Prepares TCX's (inspection support drawings used with comparator);

  • Operates 3D CAD and related equipment such as plotters and printers;

  • Build prototypes and equipment and provide feedback on design;

  • Conduct experiments, run diagnostics and collect and analyze prototype testing data;

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned;

  • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.

     

Benefits/Salary:

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $70,000

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Education: 

  • Minimum Associates degree. Preferably in drafting or equivalent.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Three (3) years’ experience drafting in a mechanical engineering group using 3D CAD (Computer Aided Design). NX Preferred. 
  • Experience in product development or testing or an equivalent combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the specific duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.  ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
