Partner with the best

As a Downstream Sales Manager, you will play a critical role in driving strategic growth across key refining and downstream customers within multiple European territories. You will serve as the primary commercial interface between Baker Hughes and executive leadership within customer organizations, helping to identify growth opportunities, strengthen customer partnerships, and execute strategic sales initiatives.

You will leverage your commercial expertise, industry knowledge, and relationship-building capabilities to develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and expand Baker Hughes' presence across the downstream chemicals market.


As a Downstream Sales Manager, you will also be responsible for:

• Developing and executing strategic and tactical sales plans aligned with customer business objectives to drive sustainable growth across assigned territories.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customer stakeholders at both corporate and refinery levels.
• Identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new business opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
• Managing complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers, technical teams, and business stakeholders.
• Leading customer engagement activities that support long-term partnership development and customer retention.
• Performing portfolio management activities to understand customer requirements, identify growth opportunities, and optimize portfolio profitability.
• Managing portfolio P&L performance and supporting initiatives that maximize revenue and margin growth.
• Collaborating with product, technical, operations, and commercial teams to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Applying innovative technologies, solutions, and commercial approaches to create competitive advantage and deliver customer value.
• Managing customer contracts and commercial agreements to maximize profitability while ensuring compliance and customer satisfaction.
• Monitoring market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making and business development initiatives.
• Supporting business planning, forecasting, and pipeline management activities to achieve sales targets and growth objectives.
• Acting as a trusted advisor to customers by providing insights and solutions that address operational and commercial challenges.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Sciences, or a related technical discipline.
• Have experience in refining, petrochemical, industrial water treatment, or downstream chemical operations.
• Have experience in downstream refining sales and customer relationship management.
• Demonstrate a proven track record of delivering sustainable top-line and bottom-line growth.
• Possess strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience managing portfolio P&L performance.
• Have experience developing and executing sales strategies across complex customer organizations and multiple market segments.
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, market dynamics, and industry trends.
• Have experience managing complex sales opportunities involving multiple stakeholders and decision-makers.
• Demonstrate strong commercial negotiation skills.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels, including executive leadership.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration, stakeholder management, and customer relationship-building skills in cross-functional environments.
• Be willing and able to travel up to 50% to support customer engagement and business growth activities.
• Have a strong commitment to customer service and delivering business results in a team-oriented environment.
• Preferred to have experience in refining, midstream, specialty chemical sales, or related downstream chemical applications.
• Preferred to have experience engaging and selling at executive and C-suite levels within large global organizations.
• Preferred to have experience negotiating commercial agreements in downstream, refining, or midstream markets.
• Preferred to have experience managing strategic multinational customer accounts.
• Preferred to have a strong understanding of refining operations, petrochemical processes, and industrial chemical applications.
