About the Role:

BizFirst is seeking a DoW FBwT and Financial Reporting Consultant to support a Department of War (DoW) customer with enterprise-level Fund Balance with Treasury (FBwT) reconciliation and financial reporting efforts. This role focuses on applying deep knowledge of the FBwT process and leveraging advanced data analytics to ensure accurate reconciliation, audit readiness, and compliance with federal financial management standards.

The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, hands-on FBwT reconciliation experience, and a proven ability to navigate complex financial data environments to resolve discrepancies and strengthen internal controls.


Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a subject matter expert on the DoW Fund Balance with Treasury (FBwT) reconciliation process
• Perform end-to-end reconciliation between DoW accounting records and U.S. Treasury reporting
• Analyze and resolve undistributed adjustments and assess impact to the general ledger
• Conduct advanced data analytics to identify discrepancies, trends, and systemic reporting issues
• Support financial statement audit activities and remediation efforts related to FBwT
• Evaluate and strengthen internal controls to improve data integrity and reporting compliance
• Develop and maintain reconciliation documentation to support audit readiness
• Advise leadership on FBwT risks, findings, and corrective action strategies
• Collaborate with financial and technical teams to improve reporting accuracy and reconciliation efficiency


Required Qualifications:

• Comprehensive knowledge of the DoW Fund Balance with Treasury (FBwT) reconciliation process
• Thorough understanding of transaction reporting between DoW and U.S. Treasury
• Experience managing and resolving undistributed adjustments and related general ledger impacts
• Practical experience in financial audit support, remediation, and internal control evaluation
• Demonstrated ability to assess financial reporting risks and control effectiveness
• Advanced data analytics and reconciliation skills with large, complex datasets
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and macros
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks)
• Experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) or other major DoW components
• CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certification preferred
• Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or financial systems such as DAI, DEAMS, GFEBS, DCAS, or similar
• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
