Door Hardware Specialist

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Door Hardware Specialist to join our team and take responsibility for managing door hardware specifications, installations, and maintenance within construction and building projects. As a Door Hardware Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, functionality, and compliance of door hardware systems across various projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in facilitating effective door hardware planning, coordination, and implementation to support successful project completion.

What You’ll Do:

• Develop and manage door hardware specifications, ensuring they meet project requirements, building codes, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, and stakeholders to understand project door hardware requirements, constraints, and objectives.
• Learn and apply client standards when developing solutions for their environment.
• Conduct detailed assessments and analyses of door hardware needs, identifying suitable products, materials, and installation methods.
• Coordinate door hardware procurement, delivery, and installation activities to ensure timely and efficient project execution.
• Implement quality control measures to inspect, test, and certify door hardware installations for functionality and compliance.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on door hardware selection, maintenance, and troubleshooting throughout project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop door hardware budgets, timelines, and resource plans, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Maintain documentation of door hardware specifications, installations, warranties, and maintenance procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.

 What You’ll Bring: 

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; specialized training or certification in door hardware is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Door Hardware Specialist or similar role, specializing in door hardware specifications, installations, and maintenance within construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of door hardware products, materials, building codes, and industry standards.
• Experience in coordinating door hardware logistics, including procurement, delivery, and installation scheduling.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, ensuring accurate and reliable door hardware solutions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, prioritizing tasks and meeting project deadlines.
• Existing Government of Canada security clearance at the Secret level.
