Domain Architect – Finance

Location: Hyderabad, India

Join Lonza's Global IT organization as a Domain Architect, Finance (R2R & A2D), where you will play a strategic role in shaping the architecture vision, technology roadmap, and future-state capabilities for the Finance domain. This position offers the opportunity to partner closely with Global Process Owners, Value Stream Leads, Enterprise Architects, business leaders, and delivery teams to drive sustainable technology solutions that support financial excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.

As the senior architecture authority for the Record to Report (R2R) and Analyze to Decide (A2D) domain, you will provide architectural leadership across processes, applications, integrations, data, and technology platforms, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, compliant, and aligned with Lonza's enterprise architecture strategy.

This is an office-first role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and team alignment, enabling us to deliver our best work. You will work primarily in the office, with the flexibility to work remotely for 20% of your time (one day per week).

• Define and maintain the architectural vision, principles, standards, and target-state architecture for the Finance Record to Report (R2R) and Analyze to Decide (A2D) domain.
• Develop and govern domain architecture roadmaps that align business strategy, technology investments, and enterprise architecture objectives.
• Provide architecture leadership across finance processes including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Product Costing, Project Systems, Financial Reporting, Consolidation, and Intercompany Accounting.
• Coordinate and support the design, optimization, and evolution of end-to-end R2R and A2D business processes within SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments.
• Ensure business processes are aligned with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational objectives.
• Identify opportunities for process simplification, automation, standardization, and continuous improvement leveraging SAP capabilities and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, delivery teams, and functional stakeholders to design scalable and integrated finance solutions.
• Govern architecture decisions across applications, integrations, data, platforms, and technology services within the assigned domain.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, design principles, and governance frameworks.
• Lead architecture reviews, design authority forums, and solution assessments to ensure architectural consistency and quality.
• Serve as the senior technical authority for complex architecture decisions, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional transformation programs.
• Define future-state business and technology capabilities required to support operational and strategic goals.
• Drive technology modernization, application rationalization, and technical debt reduction initiatives across the finance landscape.
• Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, process documentation, solution designs, functional specifications, and governance documentation.
• Ensure finance solutions support accurate financial reporting, consolidation, compliance, auditability, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with audit, risk, compliance, and control functions to maintain governance and process integrity across the domain.
• Work closely with Global Process Owners, business leaders, Enterprise Architects, and Value Stream Leads to translate strategic priorities into technology solutions and investment roadmaps.
• Provide architecture guidance and oversight for M&A activities, business integrations, and enterprise growth initiatives.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, architecture patterns, and industry trends to enhance business value and domain capabilities.
• Provide architectural oversight to vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers to ensure alignment with target-state architecture and technology standards.
• Support strategic technology evaluations, platform selection activities, and major architecture decisions across the Finance domain.

• Proven experience in Domain Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, or senior SAP Finance architecture roles within complex global organizations.
• Deep expertise in Finance processes, particularly Record to Report (R2R) and Analyze to Decide (A2D).
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC Finance capabilities, including General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Product Costing, Project Systems, Financial Reporting, Consolidation, and Intercompany Accounting.
• Experience designing and governing enterprise-scale finance solutions, integrations, and business process transformations.
• Strong understanding of architecture frameworks, governance models, technology roadmaps, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Demonstrated experience defining future-state business capabilities and translating business strategy into technology solutions.
• Experience leading architecture reviews, governance forums, and strategic technology decision-making.
• Knowledge of financial governance, regulatory requirements, internal controls, and audit processes within global organizations.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, integration architecture, data architecture, and cloud-enabled enterprise platforms.
• Experience supporting ERP transformation, SAP modernization, acquisition integrations, and business growth initiatives.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working with external vendors, implementation partners, and managed service providers.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• SAP Finance certifications, TOGAF certification, or equivalent architecture credentials are advantageous.
