Job Description

At JPMorganChase, we are committed to building a stronger, more inclusive economy that benefits all. As an Executive Director for Diversity, Opportunity, and Inclusion (DOI) Communications, you will lead external and internal communications supporting the strategic priorities of the firm’s global DOI organization.

As a DOI Communications Executive Director within Corporate Communications  you will leverage your subject-matter expertise in DOI communications and strong capabilities across executive communications, employee and community communications, and proactive and reactive reputation management. In addition, you will be an effective, inclusive people manager who is an advisor, driver and doer. You will personally lead end-to-end communications planning and production, while providing clear, practical counsel and executional support to partners across the firm. Day-to-day, you’ll both oversee and execute communications tactics and delivery across high-priority initiatives.

Job responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver integrated internal and external communications that advance DOI priorities and align with JPMorganChase values, guiding principles, and reputation standards.
  • Oversee and manage DOI external communications and media relations, partnering with Corporate Communications colleagues as needed on proactive and reactive storytelling, spokesperson preparation, and press/briefing materials; leverage strong relationships with media/press outlets and excellent judgment.
  • Provide senior counsel and leadership to DOI clients, partners, and stakeholders across the firm—setting cohesive strategies and best practices, mitigating risk, and ensuring clear, consistent communications that protect the brand and build trust.
  • Lead executive communications (often on tight timelines), including talking points, speeches/remarks, Q&As, briefing materials, and rapid-response messaging.
  • Support issues management and crisis readiness for DOI narratives through risk assessment, scenario planning, escalation pathways, and holding statements/stakeholder materials, driving alignment and delivery in a matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Lead communication processes from intake through final delivery, maintaining strong content governance and editorial workflows that improve quality, speed, and stakeholder experience.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent expertise) in corporate communications, media relations, PR, marketing, or related fields, with a strong track record supporting senior stakeholders and delivering reputation-sensitive work.
  • Strategic leader and trusted advisor who can shape cohesive communications strategies, standards, and best practices—and influence effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Senior-level media relations and external communications experience, including proactive and reactive press engagement, strong judgment, and established relationships with media/press outlets.
  • Strong executive communications skills for sensitive topics and challenging audiences, including talking points, speeches/remarks, Q&As, and briefing materials.
  • Exceptional writer and editor with the ability to distill complex, reputation-sensitive topics and data into clear, compelling messaging tailored by audience and channel.
  • People leader and operator who sets a high bar, builds disciplined team processes, and reliably delivers accurate, executive-ready work across multiple priorities with discretion and strong attention to detail.
