Title: DoD Travel System Functional Support

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; the applicant must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedule: 8 am – 5 pm
Work Day: Monday – Friday

Overview:
The DoD seeks a highly skilled professional to provide functional, operational, and sustainability support for the Department of Defense (DoD) Travel System. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of government and industry experience, leveraging technical, analytical, and project management expertise to enhance the efficiency and functionality of the DoD travel system. This role demands an in-depth understanding of DoD travel regulations, Agile project management, and configuration management processes.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customer representatives to evaluate demands and transform stakeholder requirements into coherent business and technical solutions.
  • Analyze trends in reported issues and provide actionable recommendations for resolution.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of system functionality and its alignment with DoD travel regulations and policies.
  • Apply best practices in requirements and analysis management to enhance system operations.
  • Manage DTS (Defense Travel System) issue reporting and escalation processes, ensuring effective resolution of system challenges.
  • Utilize Agile concepts and processes, including iterative planning, continuous feedback, and collaborative problem-solving, to drive project success.
  • Support software development lifecycle processes, including change management, to ensure alignment with DoD standards and objectives.
  • Operate CM Tool software applications to maintain system configurations and implement updates as required.
  • Guide DoD/DTS travel best practices and business rules to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree with 24 semester hours in business-related coursework from an accredited college or university.
  • Government or industry experience in evaluating and addressing stakeholder demands.
  • Proficiency in transforming requirements into logical business and technical views.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing trends and implementing effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of Agile project management methodologies and practices.
  • Expertise in DoD travel regulations, DTS issue management, and configuration management tools.
  • Familiarity with DoD software development lifecycle and related change management processes.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
