CONTINGENT HIRE NOTICE:
This position is a contingent hire. Employment is contingent upon EDJ Associates, Inc. receiving a contract award. This position is performed primarily on-site at NIH headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance from the federal government.
The Documentation Specialist I develops and maintains standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, training materials, wiki content, presentations, and website content for the CTRO. This role ensures all documentation meets quality standards, supports Section 508 accessibility compliance, and provides proofreading and finalization of IT documentation.

Key Responsibilities
•        Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in the NCI wiki repository.
•        Prepare and maintain systems, programming, and operations documentation, including user reference manuals.
•        Develop training materials, PowerPoint presentations, and website content for CTRO-related activities.
•        Maintain, update, and manage content on the CTRO wiki hosted within the NCI environment.
•        Proofread documentation for grammar, spelling, formatting, and compliance with NCI standards.
•        Ensure all deliverable products comply with Section 508 accessibility requirements.
•        Support the development and distribution of Clinical Trials Reporting Program (CTRP) correspondence and Listserv communications.
•        Maintain the internal documentation library and provide document control/tracking services.
•        Compose and finalize IT documentation, including specifications and user manuals, in the style and format required by the task.
•        Coordinate with Government and contractor staff to develop related documentation.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
•        One to three (1–3) years of experience in documentation, technical writing, or a related discipline.
•        Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of proofreading, including grammar and spelling.
•        Experience preparing technical documentation, user guides, and training materials.
•        Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards.
•        Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•        Ability to obtain and maintain a Level 1 (Non-Sensitive) NACI background investigation.

Tools and Technologies:

•        Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•        Wiki/content management systems (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint)
•        Adobe Acrobat or similar PDF tools
•        Section 508 compliance checking tools
