Job Description:

Document Controller

Abu Dhabi / Al Ain, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Document Controller to join our team!

The Document Controller supports the site supervision team on water distribution network projects for a major utility client in Abu Dhabi, Al Dhafra and Al Ain, ensuring that all project documentation is controlled, traceable and available when needed, in line with the Client’s document control philosophy and Parsons quality system procedures.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Receive, register and distribute all incoming and outgoing project documents, including Contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, material submittals, letters and transmittals.
  • Track the review status of Contractor submittals and alert the supervision team to upcoming and overdue review deadlines, to support the contractual review turnaround.
  • Maintain project registers, including submittals, RFIs, inspection requests (WIR / MIR), NCRs, site instructions, test records, correspondence, snags and defects.
  • Maintain the electronic document management system and project filing structure, ensuring correct numbering, revision control and traceability.
  • Upload and exchange documents through the Client’s document management platform or agreed correspondence system, where access is provided.
  • Control the issue of drawings and documents to site, and ensure superseded revisions are withdrawn.
  • Compile supporting records for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reports.
  • Maintain project master files, and assemble as-built records, test certificates and handover documentation for PAC and FAC.
  • Prepare document status reports and statistics as requested by the Resident Engineer.
  • Ensure all project documentation conforms to the Client’s document control requirements and Parsons quality procedures.
  • Support internal and Client audits of document control records.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure handling of project information.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Computer Applications, Information Management or Engineering).
  • Minimum 2 years of document control experience on construction or infrastructure projects, with a preference for consultancy experience in a similar scope of work.
  • Strong IT skills in MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Working knowledge of electronic document management systems (EDMS) and document numbering and revision control practices.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage high volumes of documents across multiple concurrent work sites.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluent English reading and writing.
  • Available on a full-time basis and prepared to work a six-day week as required under the Agreement.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Previous experience on TAQA Distribution (ADDC / AADC) or equivalent utility projects in Abu Dhabi or Al Ain is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with TAQA Distribution document control requirements and correspondence systems.
  • Experience with EDMS platforms such as Aconex, ProjectWise, SharePoint or similar.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management system document control requirements.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
