Luxembourg School of Business, in partnership with KU Leuven Full time · Fully funded · Four years · Luxembourg City · Start (immediate)
Luxembourg School of Business invites applications for two fully funded, full-time doctoral positions leading to the PhD in Business Administration, offered in partnership with KU Leuven.
Both positions are based in Luxembourg City. Each doctoral candidate is supervised jointly by a KU Leuven promotor and an LSB co-supervisor, and is attached to one of LSB's five Impact Labs — providing an intellectual community, relevant supervision, and access to a cumulative research programme rather than an isolated project.
The programme combines KU Leuven's academic standards and international scholarly credibility with LSB's access to business, financial and institutional settings in Luxembourg.
Doctoral candidates produce original research of publishable quality and develop the independence required to defend it publicly. The normal trajectory is four years. An article-based dissertation would ordinarily comprise a coherent body of work rather than a set of disconnected papers.
Formal training covers research methods, research ethics and integrity, open science, and transferable skills, complemented by mentoring, the LSB research seminar, and international scholarly exposure. Each candidate develops both a research plan and an individual development plan.
- Four years of full funding.
- No tuition fees payable by the successful candidates.
- An annual research and conference budget.
- Teaching and research-assistance duties.
- A desk, a cohort, and colleagues who will read your work.
- A completed master's degree in a relevant field, with strong academic results.
- Methods training — quantitative, qualitative or mixed — appropriate to the research proposed.
- Full working proficiency in English (C1 CEFR or equivalent). No minimum test score is applied. GMAT or GRE results are welcome but not required, and no minimum score is applied.
- A research proposal of no more than five pages, addressed to one of the two named Impact Labs. We would rather read five focused pages on one researchable question than twenty on a field.
