As a Dock Specialist you will report to the Fulfillment Center Leadership focused on ensuring we utilize our dock space fully and ship and receive product accurately. You will play a crucial role in inventory accuracy, quality control, and dock management. The Dock Specialist responsibilities primarily include but are not limited to: driver check-in, loading and unloading bookfair shipments, managing BOLs and quality documentation for truckloads, updating systems as shipments occur, unloading and receiving of new inventory, general dock flow and organization. The impact areas for the Dock Specialist are revenue growth, Fulfillment Center execution, and quality control. When we make an offer, we can provide options so employees can choose between compensation packages, prioritizing salary or equity. The hourly rate for this role will be $18.00/hr.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • High School Graduate / GED

  • Lift Equipment (Sit Down/Standard) Experience

  • Strong Communication

  • Attention to Detail

  • Task Oriented

  • Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • Requires frequent bending, lifting and moving

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:

  • Freight Handling: Load and unload cargo safely by hand or using forklifts, hand trucks, or pallet jacks when appropriate. Stack, secure, and wrap freight to prevent damage during transit.

  • Documentation & Accuracy: Verify shipping manifests, bills of lading, and delivery receipts. Accurately input data into warehouse inventory systems.

  • Quality Control: Inspect arriving and departing shipments for damage, missing items, or discrepancies, and report them to supervisors.

  • Teamwork: Communicate frequently with supervisors, collaborate with other team members, and assist in other areas as needed.
