Description:
Derecktor is looking for a full-time Inside Machinist. Candidates must have experience operating both CNC and manual cutting machines and precision measuring tools used to produce precision parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but not necessarily be limited to the following:

Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, machinability of materials, layout, and machining

Interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints

Set up machines, adjust settings, perform calibration, maintenance and repairs.

Fabricate, modify and remanufacture parts required to maintain, repair and create machine tools and industrial machines
-
Ability to run lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinder.

Performs machine maintenance and is responsible for the immediate reporting of safety issues to Supervisor

Ability to accurately measure with inside/outside micrometers, and report on results
-
Ability to machine various metals and composites to exacting standards, including threading when needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Keeps work area clean and organized to insure safety and environmental compliance.

Ability to interpret mechanical drawings

Able to perform duties with minimal supervision

High attention to detail

Must pass as drug test and background check

Experience working in a shipyard/ship repair environment

Minimum of five years of experience as Inside Machinist
Skills Required
