At Wix, we push you to innovate, evolve in non-traditional ways, and collaborate. We operate in small teams that work closely together at a high level.
Although we’re already industry leaders in web creation and business, our work is nowhere near done. Our goal is to become the main engine of the Internet so we can create a more open web for all.
We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer. Wix was built around the idea that everyone has the right to be successful, online. This same vision defines us as an employer: creating a work environment where everyone is welcome, and anyone has the right to succeed.
Job DescriptionAs a Discovery And Personalization Manager, you’ll design and shape what users see on the DeviantArt network. You’ll be tasked with a dual mission: grow discovery and engagement through relevant and engaging recommendations for a rich and holistic browsing experience, while safeguarding quality and network health. This role involves significant collaboration with remote teams, primarily in Vancouver, Canada. Central to your success will be the ability to close the feedback loop — bridging the gap between human taste and machine learning.
In your day-to-day, you will
Lead the directional framework and principles for content consumption across the network, working collaboratively to balance conflicting KPIs and metrics with stakeholders.
Design comprehensive offline and online evaluation frameworks and set guidelines for content discovery and recommendations by translating community insights and human taste into inputs that inform scalable machine learning signals.
Collaborate with ML teams to bridge the gap between high-level "quality" definitions and low-level feature engineering, ensuring models capture nuances like artistic style, medium, and technical execution while delivering on network KPIs.
Translate user consumption needs into product requirements and help plan the product roadmap to meet those needs.
5+ years of experience in editorial curation, content strategy, or a related field
Competence in data analysis and A/B testing with the ability to run experiments and analyze user behavior
Understanding of how recommendation models work and the ability to communicate effectively with machine learning engineers (embedding-based retrieval, collaborative, content-based filtering).
Strong user empathy and understanding of the psychology of creators and consumers, including how network changes impact their livelihood and creativity
Experience working closely with remote teams and managing cross-location collaboration
Experience with taxonomy design or designing annotation tasks for human-in-the-loop systems to create high-quality training data – an advantage
