Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to join McAfee as Director of User Experience Design, where you will play a pivotal role in transforming both the design discipline and our products. As McAfee transitions from an enterprise B2B focus to a human-centered, consumer-first approach, you will lead the charge in reshaping our user experiences to meet the evolving needs of millions of consumers worldwide.
You will report to the VP of User Experience Design and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, to create innovative and intuitive solutions that reflect McAfee's commitment to personal security. Your leadership will help to craft a cohesive design vision that balances user needs with business objectives, ensuring that our products not only protect but also empower users in their daily lives.
This role is located on the West Coast of the United States with a strong preference for San Francisco Bay area. We are only considering candidates currently located in the United States and are not offering relocation services at this time.

• Strategic Leadership: Define and drive the future of user experience at McAfee, leading the transformation from enterprise-focused solutions to consumer-centric products.

• Design Vision: Create and articulate a compelling UX strategy that reflects McAfee’s brand and product vision, mitigating complexity while enhancing usability and satisfaction.

• Team Development: Build and mentor a world-class design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Guide the careers of your team members, helping them realize their full potential.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with executive leaders and stakeholders across the organization to align design strategies with product and business goals.

• User Advocacy: Serve as a fierce advocate for our users, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of every design decision. Leverage user insights to inform design improvements and drive continuous innovation.

• Design Systems: Develop and maintain a holistic design process and system that can be scaled across teams and products, ensuring consistency and efficiency in design execution.

• Innovation & Quality: Lead the development of cutting-edge design solutions that address complex user, product, and business challenges. Strive for simplicity and elegance in design, even in the face of intricate workflows.

About you:

• 10 years of experience in product design or UX, with a proven track record of leading successful design projects.

• 5 years of experience managing design teams, with a focus on cultivating talent and driving team performance.

• 3 years of experience working directly with executive leaders to influence product strategy and direction.

• A portfolio, website, or other relevant link showcasing your work is required (please provide a viewable link and/or access instructions).
