The Director US Commercial IT Business Partner, will serve as a technology leader for U.S. Commercial Technology and Marketing Technology. This role unifies data, omnichannel, web, content, and digital engagement platforms to ensure cohesive strategy, operational excellence, and support for Alexions’s next-generation omnichannel model.

This leader will shape and execute the integrated technology vision for U.S. Commercial & Omnichannel, drive cross-functional alignment, oversee a growing team of product and platform leads, and help guide the delivery of advanced analytics, digital, and AI-enabled capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Alignment:

  • Serve as the senior technology partner for business teams, aligning technology strategy to business priorities across Sales, Market Access, Marketing, Patient Services, and Operations.
  • Drive the capability technology roadmap supporting the company’s omnichannel transformation, enabling insights generated through advanced technology, personalization, and digital activation.
  • Establish an governance, platform consolidation, scalability, and consistent standards.

 
Organizational Leadership & People Management:

  • Lead and grow a multi-disciplinary team, including emerging platform/product leads, establishing a clear operating framework, and accountability structures.
  • Lead all aspects of cross-functional program delivery for key Commercial technology initiatives, ensuring high-quality execution and business adoption.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, business partnership, and user-centric build.

 
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Influence:

  • Engage senior stakeholders Champion shared governance, portfolio prioritization, and cross-functional alignment to support enterprise-wide digital and data initiatives.
  • Drive adoption of advanced analytics, AI, and digital capabilities across Commercial teams.
  • Operational Execution & Continuous Improvement
  • Serve as escalation point for complex, cross-functional issues Identify and address gaps in system configuration, data flows, and processes to enhance usability and business value.
  • Evaluate new technologies and propose investments that improve customer engagement, operational efficiency, and ROI.

 
Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 12+ years of experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Commercial Technology, Marketing Technology, Digital, Data, or Enterprise IT roles, with increasing leadership responsibilities.
  • Significant experience supporting U.S. Commercial and/or Marketing functions in regulated industries (biopharma strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of CRM, omnichannel engagement, MarTech platforms, web technology, analytics environments, and data governance.
  • Proven success leading technology teams, large programs, and complex cross-functional initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive enterprise-aligned strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
  • Strong vendor management, program management, and operational excellence skill sets.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership in a dynamic, evolving environment.

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $151,178 - $226,766 USD Annual. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
