This critical role requires deep expertise in technical revenue recognition, combined with the flexibility to navigate ambiguity, establish new processes, and work cross-functionally across teams. The ideal candidate will possess a balance of strategic vision and operational excellence, ensuring our accounting processes align with our mission-driven goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Revenue Accounting Expertise:
- Oversee the accounting and reporting for various types of revenue, including subscription-based, product delivery, and development contracts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ASC 606) and policies including for government contracting vehicles such as cost-plus, fixed-price, and time-and-materials contracts.
- Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies, procedures, internal controls and lead team to post all journal entries
Process Development and Optimization:
- Design and implement scalable revenue accounting processes and systems to support the company’s rapid growth.
- Proactively identify areas for improvement in accounting practices and drive efficiencies across the organization.
- Lead efforts to upgrade accounting systems, including current workstream to implement Oracle Fusion, to streamline and automate the overall order to cash process, including revenue recognition and reporting.
Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Partner closely with legal, proposals, finance, and revops teams to address complex revenue arrangements.
- Serve as the subject-matter expert for reveue accounting in discussions with external auditors, and internal leadership.
Government Contracting Expertise (nice to have)
- Advise on the financial implications and accounting treatment of different government contracting vehicles.
- Collaborate with business development and program managers to understand contract terms and performance obligations.
Leadership and Ambiguity Management:
- Thrive in an ambiguous and fast-changing environment, providing clarity and direction to your team and stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of revenue accounting professionals.
- Drive initiatives to align the company’s accounting strategy with its broader defense mission.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required.
- 10+ years of relevant experience, including leadership roles in technical revenue accounting within a defense or technology company.
- Expertise in ASC 606 and other relevant technical accounting standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing new processes and systems.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of government contracting vehicles, related accounting and compliance requirements (DFAR and DFAS).
US Salary Range
$168,000—$252,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
